The Season 6 Player Stats round-up

The Season 6 Player Stats round-up

Goals

1. Robert Lewandowski (Chelsea/D1)- 29 goals in 38 games
2. Lionel Messi (Barcelona/D1)- 26 goals in 38 games
3. Mario Balotelli (Milan/D2)- 22 goals in 29 games
4. Carlos Tevez (Olympiakos/D4)- 19 goals in 32 games
5. Sergio Aguero (Arsenal/D1; Real Madrid/D1)- 18 goals in 24 games
6. Eden Hazard (Barcelona/D1)- 18 goals in 36 games
7. Carlos Bacca (Leicester/D4; Espanyol/D5)- 18 goals in 37 games
7. Luis Suarez (Bayern/D1)- 18 goals in 37 games
9. Bryan Ruiz (Twente/D5)- 18 goals in 38 games

Robert Lewandowski eventually finished top, with a significant three goal lead over Lionel Messi. But more significant are the achievements of the less-heralded players: Mario Balotelli had a great season as usual, but Carlos Tevez, Carlos Bacca and Bryan Ruiz did well. Sergio Aguero would have finished in the top two if he didn't move to Real Madrid (typical).

Assists

1. Lionel Messi (Barcelona/D1)- 28 assists in 38 games
2. Yoshinori Muto (Hertha Berlin/D4)- 27 assists in 34 games
3. Balazs Dzsudzsak (Saint-Etienne/D3)- 24 assists in 36 games
4. Luis Suarez (Bayern/D1)- 23 assists in 37 games
5. Machin Vitolo (Sevilla/D3)- 22 assists in 31 games
6. Cristiano Ronaldo (Chelsea/D1)- 20 assists in 36 games
7. Yacine Brahimi (Inter/D2)- 19 assists in 34 games
8. Cristian Tello (Dynamo Kyiv/D4)- 19 assists in 35 games
9. Manuel Nolito (Sampdoria/D2)- 18 assists in 34 games

Sure, Lionel Messi finished top, but what's new? What's more stunning is Yoshinori Muto's brilliant season, finishing one assist behind Messi with four lesser games player. That in essence makes Muto the best assister of the season when you take average into account. Credits also go to Balazs Dzsudzsak, Machin Vitolo for their seasons.

That's it from this season. Don't have the time to do it next year, but may do it towards the end of the season, like this one. Congratulations to all successful teams this year, commiserations to those that struggled, and good luck to all for Season 7. Ciao!
