At the tail end of Season 6 Bayern Munich still find themselves involved in the shake-up for honours in four competitions, as follows;
1. Division 1 Title Race
With 7 games to go Bayern continue to hang on in hope that Barca, leaders by 7 points, have a late wobble. Since beating their Spanish rivals on October 19th, Scott's lads have recorded 13 straight wins and show no signs of faltering. Barca's run-in includes games against Chelsea (3rd), Bayern and other well-capable opponents so there's still scope for an interesting finale.
2. SMFA Champions Cup
The QF draw was seemingly kind to Bayern pitting them against unmanaged Sparta Praha but a slender 1-0 lead is all that's separating the two sides ahead of Monday's 2nd Leg clash in Prague. Bayern dominated at The Allianz Arena but could only find the net once in 23 attempts. The travelling Die Roten faithful will be praying for an early away goal or two to calm the nerves and give them safe passage to the semi finals.
3. T100 World Club Cup
Last night's SF 2nd Leg against plucky Newcastle United saw Bayern run out 4-0 aggregate winners and into the final where they will face Real Madrid who overcame Manchester United (6-2 agg.).
4. T100 Youth Cup
Bayern face competition favourites, Benfica, over two SF legs on Sat 9/12 (H) and Sat 16/12 (A). The youngsters will need to be at their very best to contain the Portuguese but Bayern will take heart that underdogs Anderlecht took them to penalties in the QF stage.
