Managed by Stephen Beddows, veteran of several experiences of Winshill FC management and of Hart School managerial fame and his able assistant - debutant in any form of football managerial role - Steve Watson - the managerial duo were confident in the side that they had selected for the big match!
The team for this first match was: Maciej, Natan, Jakub, Archie, Dejaun, Lucas, Hassan, Liam - a few others Ben, Persephone and Zuza were away on holiday.
With the team not yet fully finalized for the upcoming season it was a chance for some to impress and the match which was played over 3 thirds saw Winshill score within the first 30 secs before leading 3-0 at the end of the first third.
The second third was very much to Doveridge, who scored 3 to make it 3-3 before Maciej scored a goal to make it 4-3 just before the end of the third.
The final third saw Winshill score 2 more to win the match 6-3! Next game is Saturday v Outwoods Hawks.

Performances of note - Jakub made 2 excellent stops in goal as Winshill search to establish their No 1. Dejaun - amazing in defence the last two thirds. Maciej was brilliant outfield and controlled and bossed the game. Natan never stopped running and got into some excellent positions. Liam (borrowed from Winshill Gold tonight excellent addition to the team). Archie took a goal on his debut really really well :)
Lucas solid in the middle of the park and Hassan - a great hat-trick! Well done!
