Juventus lift 2nd trophy under DP!
Juventus tonight won the Top 100 Cup after a hard fought 2-0 victory over André Guerra' FC Porto side.
This was the 2nd time in 5 seasons that DP had lead the Old Lady to the T100 Cup Final having previously lost out. This time however with plenty more on the line, including DP' reign at the Allianz Stadium, Juventus knew they had to do the job that many fancied them to do.
With DP once again stating this season that the club must attain a good league position in the much competitive Division 1 or win a trophy, the pressure was certainly on with Juventus having slipped to 10th position in the table due to the Cup & Shield campaigns which have seen the club make the final in both competitions. Whether or not fans will agree that the league position is ok on the basis of those cup runs however is much up for debate although additionally achieving a semi-final minimum place in the illustrious World Club Championship will also have helped.
Juventus v Porto - Match Report
Quick out the blocks tonight were The Old Lady & it took them less than a minute to go ahead through Pierre Emerick Aubamayang as he slid the ball past Iker Casillas to put his side 1-0 up.
As the game hit the quarter completion mark, Porto had twice had shots on goal with Benzema missing the target & later Lima seeing his shot saved by Buffon.
Juve hit back just before the 30 minute mark with 2 chances which both found themselves missing the mark.
Both sides again had chances in the first half with both Casillas & Buffon proving themselves still up to the task & still of top quality despite both progressing in years.
Before the 60 minute mark, Aubamayang again had chances to put his side 2 clear & create breathing space but was denied on both occasions, meaning Juve still had the slender 1-0 advantage.
60 minutes in & Tolisso departs for Dybala for Juventus whilst André also makes changes that see Torres & Corona leave the field for Bruma & Fernandes.
77 minutes gone, both teams locked in battle before a corner falls to Juventus. Griezmann on the delivery, finds Aubamayang in the box & goal! 2-0 lead for Juventus now with less than 15 to play & no further changes to be made for either side at this stage. Porto have it all to do.
Daley Blind has an audacious shot at goal fly wide before a reckless challenge on N’Golo Kante which sees the Dutchman receive a yellow card for his troubles.
87 gone, Hummels picks up a yellow as Juve camped under pressure take the foul to relieve a little pressure in theory. Lima steps up, goes with power & wide, perhaps Porto’ last chance to get back into this game.

As Juve leave the San Paulo stadium tonight, rumours are circulating that DP has indeed signed an extension which will see the Englishman remain at the club through Season 6 after meeting goals set by himself & the club. Juve have now won the T100 Cup & Youth Cup under DP who must now prepare his Juve side for battle as the club will face Real Madrid an incredible 6 times over the next 12 days in the World Club Championship, Top 100 Shield final, Division 1 & SMFA Champions Cup.
