Youth Cup Final Day (Part 3)

Remember Top 4 go through!

Best 8 group winners will get a bye to round 3
Other group winners + 6 best runners up will be at home in round 2 against
4 other runners up + 4 best 3rd place finishers

the other 6 3rd places will be at home in round 2 of the Youth Shield
where they will face 2 worst 3rd places + all 4th place teams

IF the pre-determined draw throws up matches which are replicas of the group stage they will not be changed. Hopefully this is highly unlikely to happen.

Group 9

GROUP 9 P W D L C F A Pts
Bayern Munich 9 7 0 2 2 25 14 19
Everton 9 6 0 3 0 19 6 18
Hamburg 9 5 2 2 0 16 11 17
Santos 9 2 1 6 0 12 21 7
Man City 9 3 0 6 2 5 17 7
Roma 9 2 1 6 1 15 23 6

Saturday 3rd June
......... Hamburger v Bayern Munich .........
......... Roma v Everton .........
......... Man City v Santos .........
Well this group is very tight. ALL 6 teams could move places on the final day.

Bayern know it is in their own hands if they win in Hamburg, but if they slip up in anyway Everton, can with a win in Roma snatch top spot.

Santos overtook Man City on goal difference in the last match and the Prince will be hoping his side can make the knock out stages. IF Man City and Santos draw and Roma win it will be Roma who go through.

Group 3

GROUP 3 P W D L C F A Pts
Valencia 9 9 0 0 0 29 3 27
Borussia Dortmund 9 6 0 3 1 14 11 17
West Ham United 9 5 0 4 0 19 14 15
Shakhar Donestk 9 4 0 5 2 15 16 10
Sampdoria 3 1 0 2 0 3 4 3
Southampton 1 0 0 1 0 0 3 0
Beskitas 6 1 0 5 3 3 14 0
Stoke City 4 0 0 4 0 3 14 0
VFB Stuttgart 4 0 0 4 3 0 11 -3
Saturday 3rd June
......... Sampdoria v Shaktar .........
......... Valencia v West Ham .........
......... Dortmund v Stoke City .........

Probably the most clear cut of groups - Valencia could be the No 1 seeds of all of the group winners - with 2nd place arguably up for grabs it is likely to go to Dortmund considering the incredible record of Valencia.

Therefore by default 4th spot will go to Shakhar and a place in the youth shield.

Group 7

GROUP 7 P W D L C F A Pts
Bayer Leverkusen 9 8 0 1 1 23 8 23
Arsenal 9 3 3 3 0 15 13 12
Feyenoord 9 3 2 4 0 14 18 11
Villarreal 9 2 4 3 0 15 14 10
Twente 9 3 1 5 1 15 24 9
Sunderland 9 2 2 5 0 12 18 8
Saturday 3rd June
......... Feyenoord v Sunderland .........
......... Arsenal v Twente .........
......... Leverkusen v Villarreal .........
Anyone can go through in this lot - this is the tightest group of them all. Bayer Leverkusen have won the group by a mile but Arsenal, Feyenoord, Villarreal and Twente can all still finish second (although it is unlikely that Twente will due to gd.

Sunderland know a win in Feyenoord could still see them finish top 4 - but they would need Arsenal and Leverkusen to win. Feyenoord will fancy their chances though of making the knock out stages and it is perhaps Villarreal most at risk with the Yellow submarine away at Leverkusen they must get some sort of result as Twente's form of late has been excellent.
