Youth Cup 2016: Sao Paulo faces FIFA probe after Fiorentina match violence

FIFA today announced a probe into the shocking scenes of violence in and around the Morumbi stadium last night.
In a game where Sao Paolo lost 1-2 to an efficient Fiorentina youth side having not competed until Josh Brownhills appearance, there were frequent outbursts of violence, most seriously at the final whistle when the Tricolor Ultras launched a volley of spoons into the Italian fans causing panic and distress.

Several times during the game flares were launched from the Paulo fans into the Fiorentina end leading to one supporter being taken to hospital after being badly caught by a zipper as one pair flew past. Another fan was treated for minor injuries after tripping over a very wide hem.
After the game tensions grew after Italian fans were seen posting a letter with incorrect postage then taunting a bakery owner about the size of her buns.

Paulo fans responded by vigorously shaking cans of Pepsi, Tango, even Panda Pops and opening them in front of the Viola causing multiple eye sting and sugary t-shirt related casualties.
Then they fire bombed the police station and smashed up a hospital.

  1. Shocking scenes indeed. To throw spoons at the Italians when they obviously prefer forks was an insult. I can see Sao Paulo being fined two balloons and a whistle for the behaviour of their fans. I believe no action will be taken over the bakery owner's big buns incident because they are incredibly big.

  2. A very perceptive summary Mr Kinnear. We are looking for a new club lawyer since the last one was implicated in the Bastos transfer scandal and had to retrain as an ice cream van man. We are hoping for just 1 balloon and a whistle and have agreed to settle out of court with Mrs Big Bun the Baker
