Whilst the whole of Europe has been sweltering in the warmest summer since the Met Office began taking records in Gordon 'Gino' Kinnear's birth year many Top 100 Managers have dedicated their New Year to the SMFA Top 100 World Cup - the last chance for many to add their name to the record books in the first season of Top 100...
So who fell? Who is still left?
For the 2nd round draw please look at the relevant page on the blog but for who has fallen there are a few big stars who spring to mind...
Noisy (Forum) (421) (GERMANY)
One of the so called big managers failed miserably in what has been described by some in Germany, the Host Nation, as a disgrace! "Was für ein Idiot" was one headline as Noisy clearly does not have the ability to be a success at international level.
Ron Shipp (426) (JAPAN)
There is no failure in losing out in a group that contained both Hirst and Reynolds (ITALY and COLOMBIA) but the failure is in the fact that Shipp failed to mend the problems as his side were leaking too much possession and too many shots... Shipp needs to fix the ship in time for the next World Cup.
The Doctor (417) (POLAND)
Another big gun OUT! The Doctor failed to get through a group that contained minnows like England and Spain... with the firepower that he had and that amazing choice of keepers it is expected that he will get sacked by the Polish FA in the morning.
Sherief Razzaque (455) (SWITZERLAND)
Razzaque is a legend of a manager and was unlucky as his Switzerland side missed out on the 2nd round due to goal difference.
Who will win ?
Joe Jordan (364) (ENGLAND) 3/1
Gareth Crisp (321) (BELGIUM) 3/1
Frank Hirst (ITALY) 5/2
john vinicombe (252) (ARGENTINA) 7/1
Everyone else is 10/1 and more...
